Every autumn I know I am going to enjoy football with my spouse each Sunday. He has been a big fan of the Buffalo Bills for quite a long time, and each year his dreams of a trip to the Super Bowl renews. Not only does he bellow at the competitors, he also yells at the team coaches. He also disagrees with the announcers for most of the game. We do not need to talk about what he says to the officials. It's not pretty. At any rate, it's amusing, but I'm attempting to break it to him gently that they cannot hear him through the t.v. and the only thing that is going on here is that I get a bit of a head-ache.
I have thought about inviting friends over to watch my husband enjoy football. On some days I think I might be able to charge ticket admission. He's very serious about his football games, and you can tell by the way he behaves. What's scary about this is that he is other-wise calm, cool, and collected. It's like football brings out the more aggressive side of his personality that is rarely seen. He's getting a better fitness work-out than the competitors! It's almost as if he bottles in all of his emotions and then lets them out when it is time to watch football.
I can not say that he is the only man that watches football this way though. I can not tease him too much because I've seen this behavior in numerous other men. For some or another reason the coaches are all idiotic, and they aren't qualified to enjoy football let by myself coach it and be in charge of the players physical fitness . It's probably more ordinary than anyone might imagine, and maybe this is why men get so loud in sports bars. I have come to discover that this behavior doesn't surface when men enjoy football. It comes around when they watch most sports.
